Computerisation
Computerization of the office of the Principal Accountant General (Civil Audit) was started in 1992-93.
Office has the latest IT assets including PCs, Scanner,
Projector, Printers, Servers etc. A Network (LAN) has also been
established in the office. The office is also connected with
HQrs office / Field Offices through VPN. EDP Cell ensures maintenance of these
machines. Which includes trouble shooting of day-to-day hardware
problems, purchase of new hardware and peripherals and
correspondence and liaison for Annual Maintenance. The following functions have been computerised:

- Audit Planning.
- Profile of Auditee Organisations.
- Autonomous Bodies (Central and State) Information
System.
- I. R. Main (including position of outstanding
objections).
- World Bank Aided Projects.
- Monitoring Recoveries at the Instance of
Audit.
- Database of Sanction Audit.
- Database of Important Points Noticed from Newspapers/Other
Sources.
House Keeping Functions:
- Pay Rolls.
- Stock
Records.
- Service Records/Gradation List.
- Monthly Expenditure.
- Monitoring of Receipt/Disposal of Dak.
- MIS
on Legal & Disciplinary Cases.
- Various Returns to Headquarters by e-mail.
- Various Returns/Control Statement to Principal Accountant
General.
- Monitoring of Complaints
- Library Information System.
A prototype of website of this office on Intranet
is also developed and hosted on local server in order to provide a
uniform platform for getting quick information about office
organisational set up/ various reports, orders, circulars of Govt.
of India & HQrs. office and other facilities like- Pay Slips, PIN,
Income Tax Return Proforma, Income Tax Calculation etc. This website
is also provided a link to E-Mail facility whthin the office. The
computers were also used for real time online applications, DAK
Monitoring System (DMS) and I.R. Monitoring.
