Civil Audit
The Inspection
Civil group is headed by four Group Officers. The Inspection Civil group is
manned by 69 Sr. AOs/ AOs., 156 AAOs and 168 Sr. Auditors/ Auditors. It
includes 02 Sr. Accounts Officers, 23 Asstt. Accounts Officer/Section
Officers and 30 Sr. Accountants/ Accountants respectively. This group
conducts audit of the following:

About 65 field
parties conducts audit of the said departments/institutions throughout the
year. 3575 units were audited during the year 2008-2009.
Works Audit
The Works group is headed by a Group Officer. The
group is manned by 24 Sr. AOs/AOs,
61 AAOs and 99 Sr. Auditors/Auditors. 16 Field Parties conduct audit of
various Public Works units/Departments. Out of 855 total auditable units 385
units were audited during the year 2008-2009.
Impact of Audit
As a sequel to
audit, the State Government took following actions/decision indicating
impact of audit.
Audit Report (Civil)
Various departments of the State Government agreed to
recovery of Rs.1061.91 lakh against which a sum of Rs.730.08 lakh has
actually been recovered and for remaining amount action was being taken in
respect of Audit Reports for the year from 2003-2004 to 2006-07. Disciplinary actions were initiated against

officials/officers for various irregularities pointed out in Audit Reports
(Civil) for the year 2004-2005 to 2006-07. In one case, necessary
instructions/directions have been issued to avoid repetition of the
irregularities.
Follow up audit reports
No meeting of
Public Accounts Committee (PAC) was held during 2008-2009, hence no para/review
was discussed but 89 recommendations were finalized on paras/reviews of
Audit Reports (Civil) 2000-2001 to 2005-06.
